Although Jiffy Day grew up in Southwest Virginia (Galax to be exact) basically unable to read or write, he dreamed of being a writer. It was not until years later after doctors discovered and removed a golf-ball-size tumor from the left frontal lobe of his brain that Jiffy found the courage and ability to write his first novel, “The Growing Season.” 

Jiffy lives with his wife and love of his life, Glenda, - and other characters inhabiting his mind - on a mountain in Southwest Virginia where he is working on the rest of the story.   His second novel, “After the Harvest,” is due out soon.
